Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated
Louvain holds your organisation's knowledge and answers questions from it, so it has to stay secure, lawful and fair for everyone using it. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Service under your account, including the agents they connect.
1. Use data you are entitled to use
Do not connect, upload or process content unless you have the right to. In particular, do not:
- connect a mailbox, calendar, drive, chat workspace or other source that you are not authorised to access, or in a way that breaks that source's terms;
- import other people's personal information without a lawful basis and any notices or consents the law requires;
- use the Service to monitor employees or other individuals in a way that breaks employment, privacy or surveillance law, or your own agreements with them;
- store or process payment card data, or health information regulated under HIPAA, unless we have agreed to it in a signed order; or
- upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or breaches a duty of confidence.
2. Respect permissions and security
Louvain's value depends on people seeing only what they are permitted to see. Do not:
- try to read content, accounts or workspaces you are not permitted to access, or try to learn about content you cannot read by indirect means;
- try to bypass or weaken the Service's permission controls, authentication, rate limits or usage limits;
- share sign-ins or access tokens, or let people who are not your Authorised Users use the Service;
- place instructions in content with the aim of making the Service, or another customer's agent, disclose information or act against its user;
- introduce malware or other harmful code, or interfere with the Service, its infrastructure or other customers; or
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, except as allowed in section 3.
3. Security research
We welcome reports of security issues. You may test for vulnerabilities only against a workspace you own, without accessing other customers' data, degrading the Service, or using automated scanning at a volume that affects others. Stop and report to security@louvain.ai as soon as you find something, and give us a reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it. Research in good faith within these limits does not breach this policy.
4. Use AI output responsibly
Do not use the Service or its output to:
- make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on a person — such as decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, education or access to essential services — without meaningful human review;
- create content intended to deceive, defraud, impersonate or harass anyone, or to spread disinformation;
- engage in any practice prohibited by applicable AI regulation; or
- present output as verified professional advice.
5. Use the Service fairly
Hosted plans include the model usage that normal work by the people on your plan requires. Do not:
- run automated or scripted traffic — including through agents or the API — at a volume far beyond that, or in a way designed to get around usage limits;
- resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties, or use one subscription for several unrelated organisations, without our written agreement; or
- use the Service to copy our non-public materials in order to build a competing hosted service.
If your usage is putting the Service at risk for others, we may apply rate limits straight away. Each plan also includes a monthly allowance, described in the Documentation (opens in a new tab); when a workspace reaches it, new requests are paused automatically until the next month or a plan change, and we are happy to discuss a plan that fits sustained heavier use.
6. Obey the law
Do not use the Service for anything unlawful, including in breach of export control or sanctions laws, or to store or distribute unlawful content.
7. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, we may remove or disable content, revoke tokens or agent connections, apply limits, or suspend or terminate access, as described in our Terms of Service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
8. Reporting
Report misuse of the Service to legal@louvain.ai, and security vulnerabilities to security@louvain.ai.
