Connecting an AI assistant
Use Louvain from Claude, Claude Code or Cursor, with the same answers and the same limits as in Louvain.
Connect the AI assistant you already use, and it can ask Louvain questions, search your sources and read them. It sees exactly what you can see, and nothing more.
Get your Louvain address
- In Louvain, open Connections.
- Open the Agents tab and choose Add agent.
- Copy the address it shows.
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the address.
- A Louvain window opens. Check what the assistant is asking for, and approve it.
Claude Code
-
In your terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http louvain <your Louvain address> -
In Claude Code, type
/mcp, choose louvain and Authenticate. -
Approve it in the Louvain window that opens.
Cursor
- In Cursor, open Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server.
- Paste the address and save.
- Approve it in the Louvain window that opens.
If your company manages Cursor, an admin may need to allow it first.
What it can do
- Ask questions and get the same checked answers you get in Louvain.
- Search your sources and read them.
- Save files for you, only if you turn on Save files for you when you approve it. What it saves is labelled as written by AI.
It can't share anything, change settings or connect new apps.
Disconnect it
Open Connections → Agents, open the row's ⋯ menu and choose Disconnect. It stops working at once.
